Hi! I'm Alvin Hermans, and I do funky computer things on the internet. I believe in
making our devices approachable and fun to use, without compromising on privacy.
Right now I'm a Computer Science and Cognitive Science student at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where I mostly run Human-Computer Interaction
research projects at the Computational HCI Lab
and work in theater productions for University Productions. I'm also currently interning at Google through the
STEP program, where I'm assisting with
Google AI computer vision technology
to detect landmarks.
In my spare time you can find me tinkering with retro electronics, baking, knitting, or
taking naps (sometimes all at once).
